The desert big horn sheep was the animal most seen on rock art. Native Americans rarely ate the big horn sheep because it was so hard to kill. It often took many days of following the big horn sheep until it was killed. Once it was caught and killed , almost all parts of the animal were used. The horns and bones were used for tools, utensils and ornaments. It was easier to kill big horn sheep when the native Americans switched the Atlatl (a Native American weapon) to a bow and arrow.
